NOTICE OF CHERRYFIELD SCHOOL COMMITTEE MEETING

The Cherryfield School Committee will hold a meeting on May 30th, 2017 at 5 P.M. It will be held at the Elementary School.

The purpose of this meeting is to form a Transportation Committee.

All those interested are urged  to attend.

Cherryfield School Budget

The School Budget Vote for the 2017 – 2018 school year will be held at the Elementary School on Tuesday, May 16th at 6 P.M. Copies of the school budget are available to be picked up at the Town Office prior to the vote. Cherryfield residents are encouraged to attend.

American Legion Yard Sale

The American Legion in Cherryfield will hold a Yard Sale on Saturday, May 20th from 8 A.M. to 2 P.M.

Burning Permits

A reminder that when planning to burn on your property you must always obtain a burning permit. You can get a permit by calling either Charlie Curtis SR at 546-7416 or Danny Perry at 546-1190.

Transfer Stations Stickers

New Transfer Station stickers will be assigned beginning Friday, April 21st.

These will be assigned directly from the Transfer Station.

You must be able to show either a Cherryfield Registration for the vehicle driven to the Transfer Station ~ or~  have a letter from the Town Office.

D.O.T Public Hearing

The D.O.T. will hold a Public Hearing on Thursday, March 23rd from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. to discuss the Proposed Highway Improvement Project on Route 1 between Cherryfield & Milbridge. The hearing will be held at the Cherryfield Elementary School. The public is encouraged to attend.

Municipal Election Results

The Municipal Election for the Town of Cherryfield was held on March 7th.

Leon Thompson was re-elected as Selectman for another 3 years.

Charlene Foster was newly elected to Selectman for a 3 year term.

Clifford Perry was re-elected for Assessor.

For Cherryfield School Board:

Jeffrey Taylor was re-elected for a term of 2 years.

Laura Morse was newly elected for a one year term.

Sheila Tatangelo and Peter Duston were both re-elected for 3 year terms.

The Annual Town Meeting will be held at Cherryfield Elementary on March 13th.
