TOWN OFFICE WILL BE CLOSED THURSDAY, NOV. 28 AND FRIDAY, NOV. 29TH FOR THE THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY.

The DACF, Board of Pesticide Control and Maine DEP are sponsoring a free pesticide disposal program.  It will occur in Presque Isle, Augusta, Portland and Jonesboro.  If you are interested in participating you need to pre-register to be considered for disposing of your unusable pesticides.  You can register at pesticides@maine.gov or you can call 287-2731 for more details.

The Cherryfield Academy Community Center trustees are beginning another campaign for pavers for the “Sidewalk of Memories & History”. If you are interested in ordering a paver you can contact Cheryl Brown for information at 546-6053.

The Department of Transportation is holding a public meeting at the Cherryfield Elementary School on Thursday September 19, 2019 at 6:00 p.m.  The topic of discussion will be the rehabilitation of the bridge on Route 1 in Cherryfield and the replacement of the bridge over Schoodic Brook on Route 193.

The Town of Cherryfield is seeking proposals for winter maintenance (plowing, sanding and snow removal if necessary) of the Municipal parking lots, the Transfer Station yard and the Fire Hydrants for the season starting November 1, 2019 through November 1, 2020.  Sealed proposals should be left at the Town Office no later than Monday, September 16, 2019 before 4:00 P.M.    The Office is open Mon. – Fri. from 8:30 to 4:00. The Selectmen reserve the right to reject any or all proposals.

Regular Planning Board meetings are now being held on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. at the Town Office

There will be a referendum vote on June 11, 2019 from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm to see if the voters will approve the purchase of a used heavy duty rescue vehicle for the Fire Department.

Voting will be held at the Town Office and absentee ballots are available now at the office.

The Municipal election for town officials will be held at the town office on Tuesday, March 5th from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.

Selectmen running for Seat A; a three year term, is Art Tatangelo, Corey Smith and Debra Bunker.

Seat B is Clifford Perry and Mary Knapp Young

Town Assessor Art Tatangelo is running unopposed

School Board Seat A, Jeff Taylor is running unopposed

The Annual Town Meeting will be held on Monday, March 11th, 7:00 pm at the Cherryfield Elementary School.
