The Town Office will be closing at noon on Thursday, December 31, 2020 to prepare and close the books for the calendar year 2020.  We will be closed January 1st, New Years Day as well.

THERE WILL BE NO BURNING AT THE TRANSFER STATION STARTING JANUARY 1, 2021 UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.  PLEASE DO NOT BRING IN BRUSH AND WOOD DEBRIS.

ALSO,  PLEASE NOTE:  THERE WILL BE A SPECIAL TOWN MEETING AT THE CHERRYFIELD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL ON TUESDAY, JANUARY 5 AT 6:30 P.M TO VOTE ON AN ARTICLE TO ALLOW THE SELECTMEN TO ENTER INTO A LONG TERM CONTRACT WITH A SOLAR ENERGY COMPANY TO LEASE APPROXIMATELY 20 ACRES ON THE OLD DUMP SITE RIGHT BESIDE THE TRANSFER STATION.

The December Selectmen’s Meeting will be held on Tuesday,  December 22, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. at the Town Office.

Nominations papers are now available for the following Municipal Offices:

(1) Selectman – 3 year term

(1) Assessor – 3 year term

(2) School Board Members – each 3 year terms

Because of current restrictions on walk-in business, please make arrangements before coming in.  Papers need to be filed back with the Clerk by 4:00 P.M. on January 17, 2021

Town Office will be closed July 3, 2020 and the Transfer Station will be closed on July 4th.

The Cherryfield School Department Budget Validation Vote will be held at the School on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at 7:00 p.m..

The State Primary / Special Referendum Election will be conducted on July 14, 2020. The polls will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m..  Absentee Ballots are available.

The Selectmen will hold their regular Selectmen’s Meeting on Tuesday, May 26, 2020

at 6:00 p.m. at the Town Office.

The Town Office is re-opening for walk in business starting Monday, May 11, 2020. We will be back to our regular hours of 8:30 to 4:00. We are asking our customers to follow a couple of restrictions.  1.  Only 1 customer in the inside lobby at a time.  If someone is there doing business, please wait until they come out before you come inside.  2.  At least for now, please wear a face mask.  3.  If you are not feeling well……..please do not come inside. We are trying to keep everyone safe and healthy.   If this process works well, we will be able to stay open; however, if the situation with the COVID-19 changes, it may be possible that we have to close again.
